PJEMS Memorial Garden Completed By Eagle Scout James Snider
On Sunday, October 15, 2017, a dedication ceremony was held for the Port Jefferson EMS Memorial Garden. The Memorial Garden was completed by James Snider of the Mount Sinai Boy Scout Troop 1776. After 2 members of the department had passed away in early 2016, there were discussions as to what can be done to honor those members that have passed and a Memorial Garden idea was born. Port Jefferson EMS sponsors the Mount Sinai Boy Scout Troop 1776 and knew that it would be a great troop project. After handing the idea over to the troop leader, they presented the idea to James who was going on to become an Eagle Scout. Over the year long process and several meetings with James a final plan was created and the dedication ceremony was held.
