Sr. Paramedic

This membership type is available to anyone 18 years of age or older who is in good mental and physical condition. It requires a 24 hour/month commitment, meetings the 3rd Wednesday of every month, monthly drills, 2 standbys / year, joining a committee, and monthly work details. Description: Our Sr. Paramedics provide Advanced Life Support care for patients in the pre-hospital environment according to Suffolk County protocols.  They are capable of administering and performing life-saving medications and procedures.  They also act as supervisors and Field Training Officers (FTO) for new members and employees.

Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or posses a GED, (Associate’s or Bachelors Degree preferred), currently certified as a NYS EMT-Paramedic, CPR Card, ACLS and PALS card, 2 years experience working in the NYC 911 system or 4 years in the hospital based system ( min 1600 hrs), Successful completion of a nationally recognized Critical Care Paramedic Course (UMBC,Creighton), current valid NYS Drivers License as determined by (NYS DMV LENS), successful completion of the department physical agility test (CPAT), successful completion of department physical exam, successful completion of the department drug and alcohol screening, and successful completion of a background investigation. Click Here to Apply Now!

Emergency Medical Technician

Description: Our EMTs provide basic life support care for patients in the pre-hospital environment, perform certain basic life support procedures according to medical protocol and do both independently.  They must be capable of effectively determining the nature and extent of illness or injury of patients, administering emergency medical treatment according to medical protocols and transporting sick or injured patients to a medical facility. They must accurately execute reports concerning patients and patient care.

Minimum Requirements: Graduation from a high school or possess a GED, currently certified as a NYS Emergency Medical Technician, CPR Card, Current valid NYS Driver License as determined by (NYS DMV LENS), Successful completion of department physical agility test (CPAT), successful completion of Department Physical exam, successful completion of departmental drug and alcohol screening, successful completion of background investigation. Click Here to Apply Now!
