Edith Tilly has been a member of the Mt. Sinai community since 1952. She comes from a family of community servants as her father, husband, two brothers and older son all served with the Mt. Sinai Fire Department. Edie herself has been a member of the Mount Sinai Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary since 1972.

In 1974 she joined Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance, now PJEMS. During her career as a volunteer, Edie has been both an EMT and an AEMT.

Edie has previously served on the Board of Directors as the Recording Secretary, Business Secretary, Vice President and President. She currently serves as a Director-At-Large.

Edie is the longest serving volunteer at Port Jefferson EMS with Forty-two years of uninterrupted service to the community. She resides in Mt Sinai.
