Virginia Ledford

Virginia Ledford began her career at Port Jefferson EMS in 2010. Originally working part time evenings while she taught Kindergarten during the day, her enjoyment of working in the field of EMS grew.In 2014, she joined the career staff full time as the Administrative Director. In addition to her regular administrative duties, she helps create a positive environment for new volunteer members, helping them establish themselves within the organization. In the fall of 2015 she became the Course Sponsor Administrator for the Mitchell C. Pollack Center for EMS, overseeing the courses and using her background in education to help create a positive educational environment. Using the skills she learned teaching, she is able to help with the educational aspects of the courses taught and help with student guidance. She is also responsible for completing and submitting all state paperwork.

Virginia grew up in Port Jefferson and graduated from Earl L. Vandermeulen High School. She went on to attend Dowling College where she graduated from in 2007 with a Bachelors in English, achieving Dean’s List for several semesters. She continued her education and completed her Master’s in Special and Elementary Education in 2010, maintaining a 4.0 GPA all three years.

When not working, Virginia spends her free time with her family, including her husband Chris, their newborn son Theodore and their yellow lab, Roxy.
