Port Jefferson EMS would like to announce two upcoming Rapid EMT Original Courses. The courses will be held at the Dr. Mitchell C. Pollack Center for EMS Education beginning the last week of May 2025.  Students in both programs will take their NYS certification exams in August.

The Emergency Medical Technician course will prepare the EMT student to provide pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: an introduction to the emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMTs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, and trauma. In addition, students will learn about special considerations for working in the pre-hospital setting and providing patient transportation.
