Summer 2026 EMT Course – Now Enrolling

Port Jefferson EMS is proud to announce two upcoming Summer 2026 EMT-B Original Courses, hosted at the Dr. Mitchell C. Pollack Center for EMS Education in Mount Sinai, NY. Both programs begin in early June and prepare students to sit for their New York State EMT certification exams in August.

If you’re searching for an EMT course on Long Island or looking to begin a career in emergency medical services, this program offers a comprehensive and hands-on path to certification.

Become a Certified EMT

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course prepares students to provide pre-hospital assessment and emergency care for patients of all ages experiencing a wide range of medical conditions and traumatic injuries.

Areas of study include:

  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) systems and operations
  • Roles and responsibilities of the EMT
  • Anatomy and physiology
  • Medical and traumatic emergencies
  • Airway management and patient assessment
  • Special considerations in pre-hospital care and patient transport

Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical skills training, students gain the knowledge and confidence needed to operate in real-world emergency settings.

Program Details

  • Course Dates: June 2, 2026 – August 6, 2026
  • Location: Port Jefferson EMS, Mount Sinai, NY
  • NYS Skills Exam: August 4, 2026
  • Format: In-person with hands-on training
  • Tuition:
    • $250 for EMS personnel
    • $1,200 for non-EMS personnel

Day Program

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
  • Fridays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Instructor: Anthony Guerne

Evening & Weekend Program

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Instructor: Michael Presta
